Purse Bandit!

It is not uncommon for me to get somewhere and either my debit card, cash, scheduling calander, phone, camera, etc... will always be gone. I saw Parker acting suspicious and caught him in the act of stashing away the contents of my purse!

24th of July!

My mom was in charge of Flowell's 24th activities, we went down to help out and join in the fun.
The primary always has a little parade were the kids dress up like pioneers. This was our 5 minute job of making a wagon for the parade, we made poor Austin pull the boys! :)

My mom got a little train of my aunt and uncles fixed up and had it for the kids to ride, my boys stayed on it ALL DAY!
There are other cars behind this, but my boys only cared about the 4wheeler and the horse!
Layton is never happier than when he is on a horse (real or pretend :)
I was mean, and made the older kids get out of the bounce house for 5 minutes to give the 2 and under kids a fighting chance at having fun, Parker loved it!
Poor Nana, this is super typical to see. My sweet Mom trying to watch 8 kids at once! We all dump on her like crazy, I will be so sad when school starts again...
I love the 24th almost as much as I love the 4th! We had a fun day in Flowell, we went to our wards "Pie"oneer party that evening. Everyone takes a pie to share and it is held in a barn with dance lessons going on. The party doesn't start until 8 pm, which is great for the heat, but not so great for bedtimes. We had fun, but made a vow not to take the boys next year!

lawn mowers (part 2)

Lance is such a great dad! He had been riding on the mountain all day moving cows and needed to mow the lawn when he got home that evening, instead of being able to hurry and do it, he let the boys help and had to mow it like this for a LONG time :)

If you are wondering about the part 2, check out this post from last summer :) Poor Lance, he doesn't have chance!

"I tuk"

Everytime I go in to get Parker from his crib, he is sitting like this. And tells me "I tuk" (I'm stuck), even if he wakes up in the middle of the night.
Usually he isn't, but sometimes he really is stuck, he gets his chubby little legs wedged in, and then can't get them out :)

Big Socks

Layton went into my room and locked the door, but I was putting Parker down for a nap and decided not to bother Layton for awhile, after a bit I knocked on the door and he let me in...

He is so silly, he got a pair of Lance's socks (which go up to Lance's knees by the way) out of the drawer nd sat down and put them on, he had been in there for probably 20 min. notice how they are both on the same with the words nice and straight. That stuff doesn't just happen, he was super patient and got them on perfectly, and they went clear up under his shorts :)

I don't know if this little boy can get any funnier, I mean, seriously?

"I wove your new floor mama!"

I put a new rug (well, new to me, thanks mom :) in our living room. It isn't a room we are always in so it took the boys awhile to notice. We were headed outside and they both saw the rug and ran in and rolled around on it. With Layton telling me over and over " I wove your new floor mama", we have had it in almost a week and they still roll around on it every time they go in there.
What silly boys.

Poor Parker :(

Sweet little Parker is getting all four of his eye teeth right now, he also has a runny nose. I don't know if it is from teething, or a cold, but whatever it is, he is cranky.
Poor Boy :(

Harry Potter

Gotta love Harry Potter! I haven't ever even seen the 5th movie, but of course I had to go to the midnight showing of the 6th! :)
Well actually, two of my brother's kids, Shelby and Austin wanted to go and are to young to be out at midnight alone. So I volunteered to go with. It was actually really good, we were all super tired, and poor Austin was about to freeze to death. But we had lots of fun, thanks guys for still allowing me to be seen in public with you :)

Rush Valley Rodeo... continued

The super cute Michelle from mixi photography was the photographer at the rush valley rodeo, she was so sweet and sent me these pictures she took when I had my hands to full to do it.
Thanks so much Michelle!

Lance's winning ride :)

Our cousin Shannon is in charge of the rodeo. (wow, super big job). She gave Lance his buckle for winning.

Lance tackeling Layton during his sheep ride :(

Right before Layton tripped, he was deciding whether to get close to the goat or not.

Rush Valley Rodeo

Last weekend we went up to Rush Valley for the annual rodeo. Layton was entered in the goat ribbon pull, and the mutton bustin. Lance even entered the Bronc riding and the team dr.ing.

Early afternoon: happy boys.

I want to talk to who ever is in charge, I'm sure there is a reason for the order of events. But, the goat ribbon pull is for the smallest kids, and the only event that is on foot rather than on a horse. It makes sense to me to have it first. The rodeo started at 1 and we had to just sit around in the sun and wind until 3:30 for Layton's turn.
We didn't know the order of events or we would have waited awhile to come up.
Needless to say, that is way past nap time and Layton had already had a big day and wasn't in the best mood. But he did it! Kind of...
The object of the goat ribbon pull is to run up to a goat, catch it, pull the ribbon off its tail, and run back.
running...
running...
Lance ran up with him to help catch the goat, Lance caught it and as Layton ran around to get the ribbon the rope got pulled tight, and totally tripped him...

(right as he was getting tripped :(, so he wasn't really up to pulling off the ribbon after that hurt his feeling so bad. Afterwards he stayed in with his dad to watch the other kids do it. And then bothered us all day about wanting to try again.

He also did the mutton bustin... Kind of :) This wasn't until about 5:30, so we are getting father and father away from nap time.
He didn't want to hold on the the sheep so Lance was going to just hold him on for a second and then take him off. But sheep are deceivingly fast, Lance tripped and ended up tackling Layton. Poor guy, Lance was just trying to help.
I've yet to figure out how to take pictures and use the camcorder at the same time. So no pictures of the actual sheep ride :(
I also have yet to figure out how to get the movies from my cameras hard drive, onto my computer. So no video either :) I'm sure I'll figure it out soon!
This is what Parker did (finally) while Layton rode his sheep.
Oh, and Lance won the bronc riding! I guess it's just like riding a bike, you just never forget. Even after a 2 year break.

Wowkew Man

Layton is such a character, he is constantly telling stories and saying things like remember when I ...
The other day he got his cowboy hat, cowboy boots, and his wowkew (worker) man gloves. And got on his bike and told me "I'm a wowkew man, and I'm going to wowk, with my stuff (notice the towel in the basket)"

He is seriously cracking me up, all the time.

Freedom Fest 2009!!!

Have I mentioned I love the 4th of July???

The boys loved watching the parade and getting the candy. We having been trying to teach Parker not to go into the road... It for sure didn't help enforce that concept though...

Lots of fun at the park, (unless you count the line for face painting and ballon animals, they weren't quite as fun :)

We got t0 the fairgrounds for the fireworks early, and let the kids play. Then we had another amazing fireworks show.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!! WE LOVE YOU!
