Lake Powell!

We just got home from Lake Powell a few days ago. We had so much fun, my family has a house boat and so I have been to Lake Powell, usually more than once a summer since I was 3 weeks old. Last year the timing didn't work out and so that is why we ended up going to disneyland instead. Don't get me wrong, I love disneyland. But, there is nothing like Lake Powell, we really missed it last summer.
We had a total of 25 people with, 4 of which were in diapers. So we had a super full house. The trip went great, and our boys had a blast.

Parker loved the water, every time we got close he would turn around and try to get in.

The weather was great, we had one evening that was a little bit stormy. So the kids colored on the front deck while it was raining.

Nana and Papa, pulling Devin, Layton, Katie, and Issac on the bannana and tube.

This was no baby ride. They really pulled them around going pretty fast for a really long time. Of course the kids all LOVED it!

This was Layton before we even pulled out of the parking lot on our way home. Think he had fun?

Top of the Mountain

On Saturday before the rodeo we went up to the very tippy top of the mountain we live next to. Its a little bit of a drive straight up (we clocked it at 12 miles) but worth it. So beautiful.

It was a chilly day but it warmed up after a bit and we had lunch and let the kids play, while Lance and my Dad and my brother Scott fixed the fence so the cows can go up in a couple weeks.

Layton ran around with his cousins catching bugs with his new bug catcher kit (thanks g & g sagers).

And lifted up rocks to see the bugs underneath.

We took up some shovels and buckets and Parker filled them with rocks.

The guys got done with the fence and we came home so the boys could have a nap, then we headed off to the rodeo.

Delta Rodeo

No, Lance has not come out of rodeo retirement :)
But we did go over to Delta to watch his brothers ride on Saturday. We only went to 1 last year and before that Layton was just a baby, so this was really his first rodeo experience. And of course Parker hasn't been before (big difference from previous years of reaching the 75 rodeo limit that the PRCA has)
Anyway, the boys really loved it. When we sat down they both just sat on our laps and watched. One of the flag girls fell off her horse and Layton thought it was the funniest thing. We had told him that there would be bucking horses and he didn't even have to wait to see them!
Layton could have stayed, but after the bronc riding it was really cold (still raining of course) so we headed out.
Doesn't Parker look like such a big boy? This was the only picture, he couldn't stand not to watch for even a second.

It was the same story with Layton, I asked him to look at me and he said "I'm busy".

Looks like we will have to go to a few more rodeos this summer :)

Helpers

Big helpers with the dishes. While they were doing this Lance asked if we could get another stool to keep in the kitchen so that they could each have their own. I said no way, and that one was already in my way enough! So, they have to share for now :)

More Horse Rides

Parker is getting so big, or at least he thinks he is.
Layton was riding the horse and Parker could not stand to watch anymore, he was so anxious to have a ride. He rode by himself with Lance leading for a bit, and then Layton of course needed to get back on. But there was no way Parker would get off. So they rode together, and were both very sad to have to get off.
I think Parker's days of watching are numbered.

"HOT"

As soon as Parker can see any kind of food he says "hot, hot, hot" over and over and blows and blows on it. It doesn't matter if it really is hot or not, he thinks it is and he won't stop until we tell him that it is cool now and he can eat it.

It was hard for me to get a picture that really shows his little blowing on it face, this was about as close as I could come to capturing it. But, take my word for it. He is in fact blowing on his waffle, and in person it is super cute :)
