Nana's Chocolate Chip Cookies

My mom makes great Chocolate Chip Cookies. It is my Grandma Leah's recipe and they as so so yummy.
My sweet niece Shelby and her friend wanted to make some. So of course Layton and Parker needed to help out :)

A lot of dough was eaten. But in the end a few cookies made it out of the oven :)

here is the recipe:

Nana's Chocolate Chip Cookies

cream together-

2 c. brown sugar

1. c. white sugar

4 eggs

2 c. shortening

2 t. vanilla

after that is mixed well, add-

2 t. baking soda

1 t. salt

then gradually add-

4 1/2 c. flour

after it is all mixed add-

2 c. chocolate chips

1 c. chopped walnuts (you don't have to add the nuts... but they won't taste as good :)

Drop spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-12 min. When they are done take the cookie sheet out of the oven and hold it about 6 inches above the counter. Then drop it! It gives the cookies the cracks on the top, and I think makes a big differencfe in the taste (more chewy, I think) Cool on a wire rack.

Try them today! You will be in love.
