Swimming

Last night we went swimming. Layton loves the water and always cries when we leave the swimming pool.
This was Parker's first time swimming and he was very content,
I don't think he was asleep but he kept his eyes closed and just stayed
curled up to me the whole time.

Quick Trip

Last Friday Lance had a meeting in Salt Lake and I had some errands that I needed to do,
so we all went and while Lance was in his meeting I went to visit my friend Klaudia,
she has a little girl named Katie who is 3 months older than Layton.
I hardly ever get to see her and it was great to catch up.
The kids had lots of fun playing together.

Klaudia lives close to the South Town Mall so we went there after to eat and
do a little shopping for my birthday that is coming up.
Layton wouldn't eat any of his lunch because the carousel was right next to the food court
and he was to distracted.
He loved riding on it and didn't want to get off.

The rest of the trip was long trying on clothes and finding clothes for the kids,
we had fun, but I was glad to get home.

Laytons Checkup

Layton had his 1 1/2 year checkup. He was 33 1/2 " and 22.2 lbs.
He is in the 72% for his height and the 14% for his weight.
He had to get immunizations, and was very upset, but happy to get the stickers at the end. Layton was a very brave boy and is growing up so fast!

Tagging Train

What is his name? Lance
How long did you date? I first met Lance July 25, 2002 which i think counts also as our first date, and we were married May 12th, 2006 so almost 4 years!
How long have you been married? We just had our 2nd anniversary
Who is taller? Lance barely, but not if I am wearing tall shoes
Who eats more? Again, Lance barely! (I'm nursing give me a break!)
Who is the better singer? neither :)
Who does the laundry? Me, always
Who pays the bills? Lance earns the money and I am good at spending it.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? We have fought over it and Lance won, so he does.
Who mows the lawn? Lance, always
Who cooks dinner? Me. Every once in a while Lance will BBQ, and he makes a mean frozen pizza!
Who drives? Lance
Who is more stubborn? Probably me, Lance says he is the one who always has to give in and say sorry. But I'm not so sure.
Who kissed who first? I think we met right in the middle!
Who asked who out? Tough one, our first date wasn't really a date. I met Lance at a rodeo and we hung out after and dated pretty much solid until we were married.
Who proposed? Lance did, he was so giddy and excited. I knew something was up.
Who is more sensitive? Lance, he is very tender hearted
Who has more siblings? Its even we both have one brother and one sister.
Who wears the pants? Probably me, Lance is very good to help me out when I ask.
This tag game was fun! Now Suzie and Jamie Broderick, your it!!!

Not exactly a green thumb!

This weekend we planted a garden. I have always had a garden growing up but never my own and Lance has never had a garden at all so we are both pretty new at this. We planted squash, zucchini, watermelon, pumpkins, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, onions, strawberries, and rhubarb. I do not have a green thumb and have never been able to make things grow, but I am committed and optimistic about this garden. Lance rigged up a nice watering system for me that I can either do manually or on a timer. Hopefully this will help me out. I'll keep you posted on how it works out. :)
We also got our swing set and sandbox all put together and finished. Layton really loves being in the backyard especially when friends come to play!

Bunco!

Last night I was invited to a Bunco game to be a sub for a member who couldn't make it. I hear about people playing Bunco all the time but I had never played before. It was a lot of fun, and I was even invited to be a permanent player in their group. So of course I accepted. Anyway, it was tons of fun, I loved having a girls night and I think I will really look forward to it every month.

2nd Anniversary!

Yesterday was our two year anniversary. Lance gave me these beautiful roses. We didn't do anything very exciting. We left Layton and Parker with my parents (my first time leaving Parker!) and just went to dinner here in Fillmore, then came back to our house and had ice cream and watched a movie in PEACE & QUIET, best present ever! I wish we could have done more but that is about all there is to do in Fillmore. :) It was a great anniversary, I love Lance so much and I don't know what I would do without him.

One Month Old!

Wow, where does the time go? Parker is one month old today, I am sad but excited at the same time to watch him grow!
He had his umbilical cord stump for an unusually long time, it finally fell off just two days ago (on his 4 week birthday) revealing a perfect little bellybutton. I thought he might have his stump FOREVER :)

Parkers Blessing

Parkers blessing was on Sunday. Lance gave him such a sweet and perfect blessing. It was such a special day. We loved having a lot of our family here, and after church everyone came back to our house and had a lunch, and let the kids play. It couldn't have gone better, we had such a good day!

Photo Shoot

Last Monday April 28th we made a trip to Tooele to get our family , Parker's newborn, and Layton's 18 month pictures done. Our very good friend Jamie Broderick is a photographer and did a great job. Layton didn't have a nap all day, but he did really well, considering.
Thanks Jamie!!!

Snow Day

This is what it looked like outside my house today. Booooo, big bummer.

So we decided to do a fun project, I have this really great book.

We decided to make finger paints, Layton really loved it.

And here is the masterpeice.

The paint is super easy to make, here is the recipe.

Finger Paints:
3 t. Sugar
1/2 c. Corn starch
2 c. Cold water
Food coloring

Combine sugar, corn starch, & water in sauce pan. Cook over low heat stirring constantly untill mixture turns clearish and goopy. Remove from heat as soon as that happens, divide and add food coloring.
