Teeth!

We have thought Parker might be teething for a few weeks, but it seemed so early I thought "no, he couldn't be" but sure enough, yesterday morning one of his bottom front teeth broke through and later last night the other one came through. So Parker is the proud owner of two teeth!

Sitting Up

Parker has just started to sit up, he doesn't get a lot of opportunities to practice because every time I put him down on the floor Layton mauls him to death. So, Parker and I are slowly working on it during Layton's nap time. Anyway, he is getting good at it. He loves to be able to sit up and see everything and he is getting so frustrated that he can't just go and play with Layton. Oh no, another sweet baby growing up on me!

Big Weekend

We just got home from a very big weekend. On Friday night we drove to Lance's parents house and stayed with them because Lance was a groomsman for his cousin Cody's wedding that was on Saturday, so we were at the ceremony, lunch, and reception most of Saturday.
But oh no, our day was not done, I of course had a large list of errands to do and we neglected to bring our stroller so we went through several stores in the mall carrying the boys. Layton walked some of the time but he would run away, so it was just easier to carry him (kind of) :) Then on to Wal-Mart. After Wal-Mart we were supposed to go to another wedding reception but the errands had taken so long (which was my fault, sorry again honey) that we missed the reception. So we drove to Lance's brother Devin's house about 45 min away from where we were and drug ourselves through the door. The kids were so excited to see each other and were VERY wound up.
Then Sunday we went to church with Devin and Ashley, and stayed for their son Tanner's 2nd birthday party. Then after a big day. We got in the car to finally come home. Layton is starting to travel really well, he watches movies and is happy but Parker HATES his car seat. He screams, not soft sweet baby cries, actual screams. He cried for the entire 2 hour drive home. There was maybe 10 min of combined non crying time. And because he was crying, Layton couldn't hear his movie so he didn't do as well, needless to say... I was very glad to see our house and I took some Tylenol when we got here. Parker was exhausted and zonked out right away. But Layton was super excited to be home and was running around everywhere. Lance said "are you happy to be home?" and so the rest of the night he has been saying "Happy, Home. Happy, Home" it was so cute. But he was so wound up Lance is still downstairs right now trying to get him to go to sleep.
Anyway, I don't think we will be taking the kids anywhere for quite a while. It is SO not worth it. We did have a good weekend, if you don't count the driving time. :)

Carnival Rides

Last night we went to the Family Fun Carnival that was in town. Layton had such a fun time, he is fearless and wanted to go on all the rides, even big scary ones that he wasn't tall enough for (thank goodness for me).And after every ride he would say "AGAIN". Parker was such a good baby, as usual. We had so much fun, Layton is at such a fun age, he has so much to tell us all the time, his mouth and legs never stop going. :)

The best Daddy ever!

I was off in blog land last night and Lance was watching the boys. I went in Parker's room after a while and Lance was reading to both the boys after having given them both a bath and gotten them ready for bed. I am so grateful everyday for Lance and the wonderful husband and father that he is. I know that I have it easy and I have my amazing husband to thank for it. I love you Lance, you can not be a better father than you already are.

First Foods

I have been reluctant to give Parker rice cereal because it seems to me like that is when all of Layton's sleeping problems began but that is probably ridiculous. So I decided to give it a go with Parker, he ate really well, but he never has a problem with that :), and it didn't seem to bother him at all. So hopefully we are in the clear.

getting ready to eat, which is always very exciting!

First taste

afterwards, messy and happy

Laytons New Room!

We tried to have the boys share a room because there is only 1 room on the main floor with the Master bedroom. But it is just not working the boys are waking each other up and I am having a hard time with it. So, we moved Layton into his own room in the basement. I was reluctant because it is so far away but Layton LOVES it! He was so excited while we got it set up, he climbed into his bed with his clothes and shoes and everything and said "night, night." I think he would have gone to sleep right then, but I made him change into pajamas. He was still excited afterwards though and slept great. He feels so big and loves to put things away in the special spot that they go in. What a little boy!

Hooray for Twilight!!!

I am so sad, I have finished Twilight. I loved the book, very unexpected and actually more adult than the last three. But still loved it, I can't wait for the movie to come out in December and I hope Stephanie Meyer will surprise us with more books. I did hear that she was working on some from different people's perspectives, which I am all for. There was a little of that in Breaking Dawn and I thought it was a nice change. Anyway, farewell my love, until we meet again. :)

Power Parachute!

Last night my brother took out their neighbors power parachute. We had to go down and watch, I was really nervous for him the whole time he was up, He obviously hasn't had much training, but he flew it like a pro, and had a surprisingly graceful landing. Way to go Scott!

Parkers Checkup

Yesterday was Parker's 4 month check-up. He is very healthy and growing fast.

Parker weighs 16 lbs and 12 ozs which is the 81st percentile for his weight, and is 27 inches long which is the 96th percentile for his height.

His head is 16.9 centimeters, which is the 39th percentile for his head circumference.

At this age Layton was 15 lbs 12 ozs and 26 inches long. So Parker is 1 lb heavier and 1 inch longer, oh boy, we thought Layton was tall. I guess I'll have to keep buying pants for my tall boys! Layton also was chubby like Parker until about 8 months and then he really thinned out and is just tall and skinny now. So we will see what Parker does. Anyway, I am so blessed to happy such a happy and healthy baby, we love him so much.

Tag I'm it!

I decided to play along with the tagging train, my posts are always about the kids and so you probably need a change anyway. The game is to take pictures of these things without changing anything about it first. You have no idea how much self control this took for me. So. here we go:

Self portrait:

I'm glad the rule is only one shot at taking the pic, because I don't think I will ever be happy with a picture of myself. :)

Your Kids:

I was holding Parker.

And Layton is napping, which is why I have a second for things like blogging.

My Closet:

not to bad, the shoes are a little messy.

Favorite shoes:

fave heels, flats, and flip-flops

Kitchen Sink:

oops. I guess it is important to keep your dishes done.

The Fridge:

not to bad.

Your Living Room:

This room is usually clean, we really don't use it a ton. Notice the Ottoman blocking the cupboard, we can't get the door to stay shut!

Laundry Room:

I don't know whether to be embarrassed about this or not, who keeps their laundry room super clean?

Favorite Room:

It was a tie between our living room and my scrapbook room. But since I did a post about my scrap room a while ago, I settled on the living room. It is the room we are in most often and get to be together as a family, and watch the boys do funny things.

I don't think I will tag anyone, but anybody who wants to. Please play along!

LeFevre Family Reunion

This weekend was the LeFevre family reunion. Which is Lance's mom's side of the family. They rented a cabin and we all stayed for the weekend. We had a lot of fun, and it was great to see everybody and be together as a family.

Grandpa Dennis and Grandma Jerri with: Layton, Tanner, Parker, and Sidney.

Layton and Tanner, playing. They got along really well, I hope they will be close as they grow up.

Me, Kim, and Ashley

Maegan, Ethan, and Little Lucas. On a big adventure.

We had a little program for Harvey's 80th birthday, the kids sang and danced and the grand kids all talked about good memories.

Thanks again everybody, for the good time and the effort you all put in.

Pat Myself on the Back

So, I just want to give myself a little shout out. I, like the rest of the world am reading the Twilight books and of course love them. Well yesterday the fourth book Breaking Dawn arrived in my mailbox and as much as I wanted to dive in and just obsess and devour it. No I did not. I resisted and let my mom, who is also into Twilight, take it out of my anxious hands and read it while we are away on vaycay this weekend. Why, would I do such a CRAZY thing? Well, my mom starts school on Monday and then there goes any free book reading time. Anyway, just had to get some affirmation from you all that I am a wonderful, selfless person. :)

4 months old!

Today, on 8/8/08 Parker is 4 months old! We love Parker so much and feel so blessed to have him in our lives. The time has flown by incredibly fast and we are excited about each new phase he is experiencing, His latest trick is rolling from his back to his belly and he does it the second that you lay him down. He is starting to sit up a little, but only for a few seconds at a time. Parker is such a sweet baby, and growing every day.

Rain, Rain, Don't go Away!!

We had a great big thunderstorm today, Layton was excited to put on his rain boots and rain coat and go play in the rain. He loves playing with his cousin Shelby.

Cowboy Hat

Layton has gotten so funny with his cowboy hat. He wears it ALL the time. He cries at bath time when we make him take it off, and then he puts it back on as soon as he is out of the tub. He wears it to bed and we have to take it off him after he is asleep. Then when he comes out of his room in the morning he is wearing it again. :)

This picture is so Layton, everything he loves. His cowboy hat and juice. What more could a boy need?
