Our Halloween...

I love Halloween, I'm sad that its over already. But we made the most of it and had a fun day.

We started out the morning with some pumpkin pancakes shaped like spiders and ghosts (and a bat for Parker :)

The day before, I realized that I hadn't bought any Halloween shirts for the boys. So we talked about what they wanted and I made these for them. I thought they turned out pretty cute.

Lance took the boys down on the farm for the afternoon (my reward for him being gone for 2 weeks and again this week). Then they came home and we all got ready for our ward trunk-or-treat.

Obviously we did a Star Wars theme. Lance was Luke Skywalker, I was Princess Leia, Layton was a clone trooper, and Parker was Darth Vader, and sugar was Yoda. We won the best family costume for the second year in a row :) I think it was Sugar that put us over the edge. She looked adorable, what a good dog.

After the trunk-or-treat we went to just a few friends in Fillmore, then down to my Grandma's and my parents.

They were really excited about their bags full of candy.

I may have forgotten to buy shirts, but I did remember to buy Halloween pajamas :)

What a fun day. Yay Halloween!!!

Carving Pumpkins...

Lance had been working out of town and the boys could hardly stand waiting for him to come home to carve their pumpkins. Pretty much the second that he walked in the door on Saturday afternoon they were asking if he would carve pumpkins with them. He such a great dad, or course he dropped his bags and got started.

They were super cute about it this year, and had lots of fun cleaning out the seeds and deciding on what kind of face they wanted.
Lance did his a spider and I did mine a ghost. The deer eat them right up, so we have to bring them in at night, I'm trying to save them so we can light them on halloween. We'll see if the deer cooeperate :)

The pumpkin patch...

Originally I had wanted to go up to the red barn or thanksgiving point to the big pumpkin patches. But with Lance working out of town it just didn't sound that fun on my own :)

I saw that the Carson's had set up a little pumpkin patch at the Roper's barn. So I stopped in to let the boys choose out their pumpkins.

It was really cute and we got 4 big pumpkins, 6 little ones, and 2 little gourds for $11 total. So super cheap, and probably more fun (for me at least) than a huge day would have been!

Layton's 4th birthday ... the fun!

We had such a fun time at Layton's party. Thanks so much to everyone for coming, it really means a lot to me!

I love this little boy so much, Happy 4th Birthday sweetheart!!!

Do you think he was excited !?!

Our guests, we served 40 and I wish I could have invited 40 more!

This is what he said he would do if he ever saw the real spiderman...

Then the real spiderman showed up! Everyone was just getting finished eating and all of a sudden he showed up on the roof and yelled "Hey, I 've been out fighting the green goblin and heard it was Layton's birthday. So I thought I would drop in to say hi!!!" Then he jumped down off the roof.

I know this picture is blurry, but I LOVE it. Look at Layton's (and the kids behind him) face. This is basically what he did the whole time spiderman was there. Except for a short time of hiding under a table, holding onto the leg for dear life and still not taking his eyes off of him :)

After Spiderman visited for a bit and took some pictures with the kids he said he had to go and ran over and jumped the fence and ran away. Layton still talks about it all the time, the kids thought it was the coolest thing they had ever seen!

Then we got ready for our "webslinging" game.

They all got their spidey masks and silly string and I told them the rules, counted to 3, and they took off running :)

All the "bad-guy-killing, webslinging action"!

One of the bad guys :)

After the game we did the pinata. It worked out really perfect, every kid got a turn and then the very last hit was Layton and it broke open then. Then there was another stampede of kids getting candy and toys!

Blowing out the candles...

Opening gifts (in the dark! darn this October birthday!)

Layton was spoiled rotten by everyone.

After everyone left we gave him a scooter, he was so excited about it and especially loved that it was RED (his favorite color :)

Whew! I'm glad I only have 2 kids, time to start planning for Parker's party in April! :)

Layton's 4th birthday! ... the details

For Layton's 4th birthday party he really wanted a spiderman theme... so a spiderman party we did!
I apologize in advance for the million pictures, I just didn't want to leave anything out!:)

This is just the details of the party, I promise there were people and fun stuff going on also... more on that tomorrow!

The cake table...

We had Layton's favorite, sweet and sour meatballs with rice, green beans, pretzel salad (mom's favorite ;), and rolls for dinner. I tried to name them "spidey" names!

Layton's cake, he thought it up and had very specific requests. He was super excited about it when I showed him, so hopefully it was the cake he had been dreaming of!

We had red "spider venom" and blue "electro punch" to drink.

along with bottled water of course...

This was the favor table...

We had a "webslinging" game later, so all the kids got a can of silly string and a spidey mask...

and a box of cool stuff...

this sign was like 7 feet tall and 5 feet wide (and about $5 :) it looked great...

I had these paper lanterns hanging around, i thought they were super cute.

And of course a spider mobile...

This was the drink table...

and the spidey pinata...

I had these spider web candelabra's on the dinner tables for centerpieces.

Layton picked out his eating seat, and I marked it with these huge balloons.

When I was browsing online for things, Layton saw this silverware set and became obsessed with needing to eat with them at his party. :) I didn't need much convincing!

the gift corner...

and of course the actual cake was red and blue on the inside too!
More tomorrow!
